ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

The Orange River rises in the Drakensberg mountains in Lesotho and flows westwards through South Africa to the Atlantic Ocean. The river forms part of the international borders between South Africa and Namibia and between South Africa and Lesotho.

The river plays an important role in the South African economy by providing water for irrigation and hydroelectric power.

It’s also the playground for adventure!

River rafting is exciting, challenging and simply awesome! Join a 3, 4 or 5 day tour where you’ll paddle calm waters, test rapids and sleep in tents. You’ll eat food cooked over a fire three times a day and experience the silence and magic of the afternoon sun over the bare, orange mountains as you set up your camp for a night under the stars. There are no designated campsites. Instead all camps are natural areas along the river. Guides make sure you leave the place clean and as you found it.

There are several suppliers of this activity and we can help you book and plan your adventure of a lifetime.

HOW WE RATE IT & WHY WE LIKE IT

Rafting on the Orange river is a truly fantastic experience and adventure from start to finish. The trips are not about going fast but about enjoying and relaxing and getting back to the simple things in life: warm sunrises, fishing, swimming and spending time in nature. You won’t regret it!
