Gonana Travel is the brainchild of Jonas Sandström, a Swedish entrepreneur, restauranteur, guest house owner, actor, model, and lover of all things beautiful. His creations have appeared in many books, programmes and magazines and always depict a love for quality, aesthetics and kindness. Jonas is born and bred in Sweden but has spent the last 15 years in South Africa. He is passionate about Africa and passionate about people and through his many endeavours contributes to making things just that little bit better for those around him. Welcome to Gonana! Local is best
We aim to contribute to a better South Africa by employing local people, and working with suppliers that create jobs and care for the environment. For each client, we contribute to Trees for Tourism, an initiative that plants indigenous trees that not only help alleviate carbon dioxide, but also enhance biodiversity protecting the area from erosion and wild fire. We also support a number of charities in South Africa. These are the organisations that are particularly close to our hearts:
Pinocchio Creche provides early childhood development for the children of domestic workers in the Sea Point area. Philani provides maternal and child health and nutrition programmes in Cape Town’s townships.
